My name is Bart. I am a 22-year-old game designer and developer, and this is my portfolio site!
In July 2024, I graduated from the Bachelor of Creative Media and Game Technologies at HKU. During my time at HKU I found myself doing tasks of both a game designer and a game developer. Because of this, I would call myself a Game Designer and Developer, as I have quite some experience in both designing games on paper and building them in engine. This also gives me the ability to quickly prototype ideas in-engine.
During my studies, I did my internship at CVS-Gaming, where I worked on a Unity game with twitch integration. Together with the team, I worked on the concept for a prototype and finished production on that first prototype during my internship.
After that, during my graduation project, I worked on a game where I wanted to evoke a feeling of wonder within the player. During the design process, I focused on defining this feeling of wonder and working out how to make the player feel that feeling.
When working on concepts, I like to make small and quick digital prototypes in Unity to test out my ideas. When working on things like level designs, I try to balance working on paper and trying things out in-engine.
